Why Now Is the Time for a Generational Portrait...

There are moments in life that feel too important to leave to chance—too precious to trust to memory alone. A generational portrait session is one of those moments.

Whether it's grandparents with their grandchildren, a multi-sibling family coming together, or four generations gathered in one frame, these portraits hold immeasurable value. They tell the story of where we come from, who we are, and the deep bonds that connect us through time.

🖼 Why Generational Portraits Matter

In today’s fast-paced world, it's all too easy to let years go by without gathering the people who matter most. A generational portrait is a powerful reminder of legacy, love, and the beauty of connection. It’s an heirloom in the making—one that your children’s children will look back on with gratitude.

These portraits do more than decorate your walls; they honor your family’s history and preserve it for future generations.

🌞 Why Summer Is the Perfect Time to Schedule

Summer offers a rare window when schedules align, kids are out of school, and loved ones may be traveling home. The weather is kinder, the landscapes are lush, and the golden light of evening creates the perfect setting for a meaningful portrait experience.

Whether we meet in the studio or outdoors, summer provides the warmth and flexibility to create a relaxed, joyful environment—one where authentic connection shines through.

Even if summer isn’t the right time for your family to gather, it’s still the perfect time to reserve a session for the upcoming holiday season. My availability is extremely limited later in the year, and waiting until then to book often means missing the opportunity altogether.

💼 One Session Fee, All Generations Welcome

Whether you're planning for two people or twenty, there's one session fee—no extra charge for extended family. That’s because I believe these portraits are for everyone. Each session is carefully planned to give every grouping (grandparents, cousins, individual families, and full family groupings) time to be celebrated and beautifully captured.

🖼 Heirloom Artwork to Match the Moment

Your session doesn’t end with the click of a shutter. You’ll return to the studio for a custom Ordering Appointment, where we’ll review your portraits and select art pieces designed to last a lifetime. Have family out of town that wants to be included in the Ordering Appointment? No worries, they can join us via Zoom!

Artwork options include:

  • Archival Mounted Prints (starting at $190)
  • Fine Art Print Collections (beginning at $990)
  • Heirloom Albums (starting at $1990)
  • The average family will invest between $2000-$5000 for their artwork

And of course, a complimentary digital file is included with each printed portrait, so you can share your legacy with loved ones near and far.

📅 Plan Ahead, Book Early

Summer sessions are in high demand, and generational portraits take thoughtful coordination. I encourage you to reserve your date soon so we can design your session with care—allowing time for travel, special wardrobe choices, or simply ensuring everyone can be together.

There is no better time than now to honor your family’s story. Let’s create artwork that celebrates your roots, your relationships, and the legacy you’re building—one portrait at a time.
